A traveler's guide to Disneyland Park
Disneyland Park is the walkable one. The lines are the challenge, not the distance. Stay nearby and go back for a second evening.
Disneyland Park is the Anaheim theme park that started the others: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the railroad, and a ride list stacked into a footprint you can cross in minutes. It is in California, beside Disney California Adventure. Two days with a park hopper is the comfortable version.
When to go
Fall and spring. Summer is peak family travel and the evenings stay warm. The weeks around Christmas and spring break are a different park. Weekday mornings in the school year are the quiet version people remember.
How to see it
Rope-drop a mountain or Indiana Jones. Galaxy's Edge sits on the far side and eats an hour if you wander in without a ride plan. The railroad still circles the park. Fantasyland is the midday crush. New Orleans Square is the part that still feels like 1967.
Tickets and time
California tickets are date-based and the good days disappear. A hopper with Disney California Adventure is the usual pair. Lightning Lane Multi Pass and the individual headliner pass are separate decisions; buy the headliner only for the ride you will not skip.
If you only remember this
- The parks are across an esplanade. Hopper evenings are easy here.
- Mobile order for food. The restaurants that are worth it need a reservation.
- Security lines at open are part of the morning. Arrive early anyway.
- The castle is smaller than Florida's. The park around it is the point.
