A traveler's guide to Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland is a one-day theme park beside a great city. Do not give it the only day of the trip, and do not skip Mystic Manor.
Hong Kong Disneyland is the theme park on Lantau Island, with a castle, Mystic Manor, and a land list that grew up after a quiet first decade. It is the easiest Disney park to add to a city trip. One day covers it if you arrive at open.
When to go
The dry, cooler months from November to February. Summer humidity and rain are the default, and typhoon days close more than the outdoor rides. Chinese New Year and the Golden Week periods are the crowds to check before you buy.
How to see it
Mystic Manor first. Then Grizzly Mountain or Frozen, depending on the board. The castle park half is pretty and smaller than Anaheim. Iron Man Experience and the Marvel area are the other corner. The evening castle show is short and worth staying for.
Tickets and time
Tickets are cheaper than Tokyo or Florida and easier to buy for tomorrow. A hotel on Lantau makes the morning simple. The MTR to Disneyland Resort station is the way in from the city.
If you only remember this
- English and Cantonese are both on the signs. Shows vary.
- The park can feel empty on a random Tuesday and packed on a holiday. Look at the calendar.
- Mystic Manor is the one you tell people about.
- Leave a night in Hong Kong itself. The city is the other attraction.
