A traveler's guide to Universal Epic Universe
Epic Universe is a new theme park with new bottlenecks. Pick two portals for the morning and let the other two be the afternoon.
Universal Epic Universe is the theme park that opened at Universal Orlando on May 22, 2025. Celestial Park is the hub. The portals lead to Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon's Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and the Ministry of Magic. It is south of the older two gates, in Orlando, Florida, and it needs its own day.
When to go
Orlando weather, plus the extra crowds of a park that is still new. Weekdays in winter and spring are when the portals feel like lands instead of queues. Summer capacity is the thing the resort is still tuning. Go in with a backup ride.
How to see it
Celestial Park is the garden you cross, not the ride list. Each portal is a separate little park. Nintendo and the Ministry draw the longest waits. Berk is the brighter outdoor land. Dark Universe is the one to see at night. Stardust Racers is the dueling coaster if you want something that is only a coaster.
Tickets and time
Epic Universe is often ticketed separately from a two-park Universal Orlando day. Read the product before you buy a hopper that does not include this gate. Express rules here have been changing with capacity. Check the morning you go, not the blog from opening month.
If you only remember this
- It is not a walk from Islands of Adventure. Use the resort transportation.
- New rides go down. Have a second portal in mind.
- The Helios Grand hotel is the on-site stay. Everything else is a shuttle.
- One day is the plan. A second morning is how completionists finish.
